Grace's Accomplishments

It is amazing how much a toddler learns between 1 1/2 and 2 years old. These are some of Grace's accomplishments:
  • She loves to do puzzles and is quick at them.
  • Grace can now say Andrew pretty clearly with different tones according to what she wants.
  • She loves to repeat you when your reading a book and can get pretty close with most words.
  • Naming animals is very fun right now; "cow-moo, kitty-meeeeo, elephant (without the ph), bear, dog-oof-oof, piggy-oink just to name a few.
  • Taking off her all in one zipper footy jamies AND diaper is a rather great achievement, but frustrating for Mommy and Daddy. It's kind of cute because she sneaks off and takes them off quite quietly and then runs into the room with a grin and a giggle.
  • Washing her own hair and dumping water over the back of her head into the tub helps Mommy out so much -Kind of.
  • Helping sort and wash laundry is also a big help. She likes to grab socks, say sock with a questioning voice, and then drop it into the pile you point too. Good color learning experience. She also wants to put dirty clothes into the washer so Mommy comes over, lifts Grace up, she drops it into the washer, Mommy puts her down, and she gets another sock. The process repeats. Even today she helped take clean clothes from the drier and added a few dirty ones to the basket without me noticing too. Helpfulness!!
  • She knows when she is poopy, announces it -"POOP- Yuk" while pointing to her diaper and will get a new diaper. I am thinking potty training this one might be easy.
  • She likes to immitate Mommy. I will call Michael to supper by saying "Michael come and eat." She then will say "Michael EEEEAAAT." Just last night she copied me. Michael was teasing her that the Easter Bunny came from the toy egg she was holding. I said "Michael" in a sacastic knock it off tone and she says "Michael" in the same tone I used. We chuckled for a while on that one.
Learning and growing up!!
