A Very Busy Week

This is our fun filled busy week.

On the June 28th on her 13 month "birthday," Grace took her first wobbly steps. I had bought her this walk behind toy with the money from Dale and Joyce Hanson (thank you so much), and she just loves it. It must give her confidence because she will push it somewhere, and then step away and take about 6 steps. So this past week has been filled with trying to get her to walk a little further. She gets so excited with herself and then plops down and giggles.

On the June 29th, Dean and Sara (Andrew's godmother) stayed over night for their bi-annual trip to see Andrew, Grace and Snuggles (the cat), and I guess the grownups too. Andrew and Sara had fun playing with his fishing stuff. Grace had fun too just watching all the action and giggling. The grownups had a good time too. We even stayed up to 2:30 talking which is a miraculous thing for at least this 30 year old. Michael headed to Grand Forks on Sat morning for a wedding, and Dean went "buffalo wings shopping" with his brother. Then Sara and I went to a bridal store so she could try on dresses. Then we went to Hobby Lobby. There is just something fun about doing girl things with a really good friend. Thanks for visiting.

July 2 was Michael's birthday, so Andrew sang Happy Birthday to him on his guitar, and helped make him his birthday coconut cream pie. That evening we went out to eat with Edith at Paridiso.

July 3 was the start of Morton Reunion hosted by Mom's cousins. So my Uncle Gene and Aunt Arlene, 2nd cousins Tyler, and Mitchell came to stay with us.
The highlights of the third included: the pinochle tournament, which Michael was the champ, the bounce house, Andrew and Logan had a blast but Grace just screamed, "Fireworks away"- snaps and party bottles for Andrew, Dawn taught Grace the ins and outs of the reunion- a bottle opener and a deck of cards, Lots and Lots of food, and Mitchell reading a story.

The reunion continued on the Fourth of July. Festivities included: watching some of the parade- just way too hot, visiting, cribbage tournament- Dawn won but in second place was Tyler (Way to Go), more little kid fireworks, family tree information, more and more food-barbequed ribs and chicken even watching the fireworks display from our yard (good thing "family and cousins didn't miss it all"), and Tyler reading the bedtime story. Thanks to Marlene and Dave F. for hosting the reunion.

Then on the 5th, we had breakfast with Gene, Arlene and boys before they had to leave and Logan got to spend the day with us. Thanks for staying with us and we will gladly have you again soon. Andrew read Grace and Logan quite a few stories, but he says that "they don't sit and listen very good." All you teachers- take note that Andrew is pointing to the words.

Next week doesn't look as eventful, but I should be able to get some housework done.
