As summer came to a close, we finished up a few projects,
like painting Grace's room, and headed back to school to get things ready.
We were also graced with a little bit of company. Sara, Dean and Zach were able to visit the last weekend of July. We always find something fun to do while they are here. We went to the zoo this year. The zoo had a few flooding problems from the rain the night before, but we were able to see most of the animals.
Then we met up with a college friend of Sara's and mine -
Sandy and her little boy Jacob for a picnic at a park.
While visiting an ice cream truck came by. What a treat!

That afternoon we set up a water park in the backyard.
We look forward to our next annual visit from Dean, Sara, and Zach.

Summer seems to disappear in a blink of an eye and before you know it, fall has arrived. With all the rain we had this summer, my flowers did fairly well, and the garden did OK. I was slacking on taking pictures of flowers this year and missed taking a picture of my best flower- my pink wave petunia by the front porch. You will just have to trust me that it was spectacular before the wind and heat got to it. Here are a few pictures of other flowers this year. (The lily had ten blooms open at one time. Breathtaking!)
