Why Not Minot

Why not Minot! It's half way and we can get together for the day. So that's what we did with Dean and Sara did last weekend.

We visited the Scandinavian Heritage Park, which was very beautiful park in the heart of the Minot. Check it out- http://www.scandinavianheritage.org /tour.htm . We went on a miniature train ride and looked for a geocache in that park. But no luck! Sara did some more research this week, and we maybe were staring right at it and didn't know it.

The next geocache we hunted for was quite an adventure. We started out in the main part of a gorgeous park and walked the paths that followed a river. We found the exact location east and west but we were off by about 20 feet north and south, which technically would be in the river or on the otherside. Hmm? So we continued to walk on the path and sure enough it kept bending around to a BRIDGE and a smaller more secluded path in the wooded area. This path lead us to a trail deeper into the trees. We knew we were in the right spot- directly on the other side of the river so the guys headed into the trees. By this time Sara was exhausted being 37 weeks pregnant and states those guys are crazy it has to be around here. So I start looking and FIND IT. I let Andrew get the treasure out. Boy was he excited!! As you can see geocaching is great fun for young and old. The youngsters like the treasure and the more mature like the hunt.

Andrew then collected acorns in hopes to catch a squirrel back home. He told his Sunday school teacher all about it the next day. As of today, we do not have a pet squirrel.

It was a great day with friends on a gorgeous fall day. Hope to get together with them again soon and meet the new addition to the Ski family.
